The Rescuer is going to launch on kickstarter soon, it's a graphic novel by Allen Ling (story), Ken Hooper (int art), myself (covers and colors), Jeremiah Lambert (edits and letters), and John Rodriguez (also on art). Story

In a world that celebrates flawless heroes, The Rescuer tells the story of one who survived the unthinkable and carries it with him every day.

In a moment of chaos and fire, he saved dozens of lives, but not without cost.. Severely burned and permanently scarred, physically and emotionally. The world calls him a hero. He’s not so sure.

By day and night, The Rescuer pulls people from wreckage, stops violent threats, and stands between chaos and survival. But behind the headlines, he’s fighting something far more relentless.. depression, trauma, and the weight of knowing he couldn’t save everyone.

This project explores the cost of heroism when the battle doesn’t end after the rescue. It’s about visible and invisible scars, the quiet moments between crises, and the humanity inside someone the world only sees as a symbol.

The Rescuer blends grounded superhero action with emotional depth, offering a story where strength isn’t just lifting the impossible, but choosing to keep going.

All chapters are 100% done. It will collect all the Rescuer stories (1-4) into one volume. Here’s my covers and concept art
